NeighborWorks Week: Hmong Housing Resources

The Hmong Housing Resources started out as a Hmong housing fair usually held at locations where the Hmong community gathers at during the weekends. This event is done in partnership with Dayton’s Bluff NHS to promote both organizations’ services to the Hmong community. In 2006, Community NHS held this housing fair at Hmong American Partnership’s newly renovated building. In 2007, the event was held at the International Market Place in St. Paul. The fair was designed to get resources and do outreach to the Hmong community. CNHS with Dayton’s Bluff NHS have provided information along with getting private corporate lenders, realtors to come and provide resources for their services as well. This event promotes affordable homeownership and home improvement loans along with the long term sustainability of home ownership directly to the Hmong community in St. Paul but also concentrating on the severn metro county area.
