I Own a Home

"I was hoping that when I walked through the doors at Community Neighborhood Housing Services that I would not receive the same brush-off, canned answer that I got from the previous 12 mortgage companies that claimed they could help if I came into their offices. Everyone kept telling me my only option was to sell, walk away, or offer the lender a short-sale refinance.
I work hard, and most of the time I even work two jobs. I bought my house in November 2005 with two loans - one 80% mortgage and one 20% mortgage both being A.R.M. mortgages. My interest rates had sky-rocketed and I knew I could not continue at the rate I was going.
Community NHS was the only organization that treated me with respect and like a real person. CNHS really listened to me when I told them that, "I love my house and I plan on living there the rest of my life." Paul Houdek really went to bat for me. He helped me work on cleaning up my credit report that was full of obvious mistakes which were bringing my credit score down. I also had an energy loan that counted as a third mortgage against my house.

The lender was not willing to work with any of us on any type of plan that would be beneficial for all parties.
The next obstacle was my third mortgage that I had taken out to make several energy improvements in my house. This lender found it to be advantageous to change this loan from a mortgage to a personal loan so that I could qualify to refinance my current first and second mortgages that had astronomical interest rates.
The entire process took about 7 months. CNHS dealt with every hindrance and complication that came up and kept pushing forward to the finish line. CNHS made it possible for me to remain a responsible homeowner in the neighborhood that I have lived in my entire life. Without the hard dedication and expereience of the CNHS staff, I believe I would have lost the battle and would have had to give up my house. CNHS greatly exceeded my expectations and found another open door when all the others were closed.
Thank you so much CNHS!"
